Administration
Reporting to Chief and Council, the Band Manager is responsible for the management, administration and delivery of all band programs and services, ensuring that community members needs are met in a reasonable, effective and efficient manner.
To facilitate the work of the Band Manager, the workload is divided into a number of program areas with a person in each program area being responsible for managing the day to day program activities. Each Program Head or Manager is responsible for reporting to the Band Manager on all areas of the program such as: staffing issues, financial issues, reporting, etc.

On-Reserve Social Assistance
This program helps eligible on-reserve members cover the costs of their daily living and provides funding to access employment supports.
Income assistance includes funds for:
- basic needs (such as food, clothing, and rent and utilities allowance)
- special needs (such as essential household items, personal incidentals and doctor-recommended diets)
- pre-employment and employment supports to move individuals toward self-sufficiency (such as life skills and job training)
Indian Band Registry
The Band Registry Clerk maintains the Band Membership Register and provides help to band members in completing the necessary forms to request a registration or a change to the Register, or to apply for status or status cards.

Finance
Finance provides support and services to Chief and Council and their band organization in areas of budgeting, reporting, accounts payable and receivable, financial planning, audit preparation, book-keeping and other community initiatives.

Public Works
Public Works is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all Band-Owned infrastructure on the Birdtail Sioux Reserve. In addition, to ensuring that the Band Office and grounds are kept safe and visually appealing, this Department is also in charge of making sure community roads are graded, and the community water systems are functioning effectively.
The Public Works also works very hard to ensure that our public recreation sites are available for community events and seasonal activities.

Assisted Living
This program provides funding for non-medical, social support services to seniors, adults with chronic illness, and children and adults with disabilities (mental and physical) on reserve to help them maintain their independence.
There are three major components:
- in-home care
- adult foster care
- institutional care (for those needing personal non-medical 24-hour care)
Meals on Wheels
The Meals on Wheels program delivers affordable, nutritious and delicious meals to members of the community who are unable to prepare their own food. Meals on Wheels helps people continue living independently while maintaining a healthy diet.

Water Treatment Plant
Ensuring that the community has access to safe, clean and reliable drinking water is a priority for Chief and Council.
The Water Treatment Plant Operator works in partnership with Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) to ensure the design, construction, operation, maintenance, and monitoring of drinking water and wastewater systems are in accordance with federal or provincial standards.
