The Education Department at Birdtail Sioux First Nation is dedicated to supporting the academic journey and holistic development of all Band members. Our mission is to empower learners from Kindergarten through Post-Secondary, fostering a lifelong love of learning and ensuring access to quality educational opportunities that prepare them for successful futures.

• Student Support & Guidance: Providing comprehensive support and guidance to students at all levels of their educational journey, from early years to higher education.
• Program Administration: Administering various education programs, including financial assistance and awards, in accordance with established guidelines (e.g., Indigenous Services Canada).
• Funding Management: Ensuring proper management and allocation of educational funding to support student needs and departmental initiatives.
• Liaison with Educational Institutions: Acting as a liaison between students, families, and educational institutions (K-12 schools, colleges, universities) to facilitate smooth transitions and address challenges.
• Promoting Educational Success: Working to remove barriers to education and promoting an environment that encourages academic achievement and personal growth.
• Documentation & Compliance: Assisting students with submitting all required documentation for funding and program eligibility.
